This was a proposed production night fighter variant equipped with FuG radar and multiple forward-firing cannon. The R-1 was to counter RAF night bombing raids but was ultimately scrapped before reaching production due to Luftwaffe preference for other types and the growing importance of jet-powered aircraft.
